Cheongju's multipurpose indoor gymnasium project has proposed "U-STADIUM," symbolizing the 2027 FISU World University Games Summer and incorporating the "U" that unites the Chungcheong region. This space includes four differentiated plans:

U-STADIUM will be a space where culture and nature harmonize 365 days a year, providing an open plaza where anyone can freely visit and enjoy. It will become a new landmark of Cheongju, expressing the images of "Jikji" (the oldest known book in the world printed with movable metal type) and "Soar" in a unique design. U-STADIUM will be developed into an innovative space equipped with eco-friendly energy systems such as geothermal and solar power, going beyond traditional gymnasiums. Efficiency and convenience will be maximized by applying advanced facility systems and smart technologies, and it will be planned as a new multi-platform.
