Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark Opened on March 5

Notice 164 Mar. 11, 2025

Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark, designed by HAEAHN Architecture, officially opened on March 5.

After three years of large-scale construction, the ballpark was completed and now serves as the new home of the Hanwha Eagles and a complex cultural space for the citizens of Daejeon.

With a seating capacity of 20,007, the ballpark meets international standards and offers a range of modern amenities across two underground and four above-ground floors. Spectators can enjoy a more comfortable viewing experience thanks to wider seat spacing and various premium seating options. The ballpark also features Korea’s only asymmetrical field and a multi-level bullpen, providing fans with a distinctive and immersive game-day experience.

One of the ballpark’s standout features is its open-concept circular concourse, designed to enhance mobility while allowing visitors to enjoy the game from various vantage points. This vibrant space also includes diverse dining and entertainment options, creating an engaging atmosphere beyond the game itself.

More than just a ballpark, Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark has been envisioned as an urban sports and cultural complex. Designed as a pedestrian-friendly, park-like venue, it offers year-round access to sports, performances, commercial activities, and interactive experiences. Even on non-game days, it serves as a welcoming public space where citizens can gather and enjoy various activities.

The ballpark’s field-adjacent seating brings fans closer to the action, ensuring an optimal viewing experience for baseball fans. Additionally, in collaboration with the team, the venue features a rooftop space connected to the open concourse and Korea’s first-ever infinity pool, where fans can enjoy a baseball game while relaxing in the water.

The ballpark’s first game will take place on March 17, an exhibition match against the Samsung Lions, followed by the official home opener on March 28.
