Planned with its urban context embracing Bangchukcheon Stream and urban public zones in the area, the Best Western Plus Hotel Sejong was designed with three detailed plans under the concept “Terra-scape”, which would capture the stream-side view, the atrium and the urban scenery on the terrace. First, “Water-scape”: the hotel would capture stories of the lively city through the terrace facing the café street along Bangchukcheon Stream. Second, “Valley-scape”: the hotel would connect the public pedestrian trail “Sunset Walk” and the atrium in layers where various events and views would be enjoyed by the hotel guests. Third, Urban-scape: the hotel would have a unified image reflecting the entire block as well as the entire city as the hotel faces a government complex. Designed to have the hotel be absorbed by the riverside, the atrium and the city, the three concepts create an activated space and establish an identity of the hotel located near the stream.
