HAEAHN Architecture’s ABLBio Office building project has received the Merit Award (Korea Remodeling Association Chairman’s Award) in the Completed Projects category at the Korea Remodeling Architecture Awards 2026. The award ceremony was held on September 4.

Located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the project transforms the former headquarters of an apparel company into an advanced biotechnology research and office complex. Rather than pursuing new construction—which would have resulted in a reduction in allowable floor area and greater height restrictions—the project adopted a major renovation strategy. By retaining and reusing the existing structural framework, the design preserves the value of the existing urban asset while reducing the environmental impact associated with demolition and new construction.

ABLBio Office Building demonstrates a sustainable approach to transforming an existing urban building into advanced biotechnology research infrastructure, while establishing a distinctive architectural identity for the company.
