[Award] Yeongheung Forest Park Wins Grand Prize at Suwon Design Awards 2025

Awards 10 Nov. 10, 2025

Yeongheung Forest Park has been awarded the Grand Prize in the Public Space Category at the Suwon Design Awards 2025, hosted and organized by the City of Suwon.

This year’s Suwon Design Awards recognized a total of five outstanding projects across three categories—Architecture, Interior, and Public Space. The award ceremony was held on October 30 at the Jeongjo Theme Theater, in conjunction with the 2025 Suwon Urban Architecture Festival.

Covering an area of 590,000㎡, Yeongheung Forest Park is an urban park that integrates everyday life with nature. About 150,000㎡ of the site has been developed into an arboretum, creating a harmonious blend of gardens and ecological forest spaces. The park features facilities such as a visitor center, indoor gymnasium, greenhouse, and observatory, all constructed with locally sourced timber. Within the arboretum, thematic zones including Jeongjo Hyo Garden, greenhouse, retention pond, wildflower garden, and exhibition forest have been created to promote garden culture and improve the city’s ecological environment.

Through this award, Yeongheung Forest Park is expected to continue evolving as a space of rest and healing, deeply connected to the lives of Suwon’s citizens.
