The HICO​, which serves as the main venue for this year’s APEC Summit, was designed by Haeahn Architecture and opened in 2015. Since then, it has hosted a wide range of events including exhibitions, conventions, and international conferences, establishing itself as a versatile cultural complex.

Featuring an exterior design inspired by Silla-era pavilions and the golden crown ornaments from Cheonmachong, as well as eco-friendly architecture and AI-based advanced systems, the HICO​ is recognized as a model example of a sustainable and smart convention facility. Beyond being a mere conference hall, it stands as an iconic space that showcases the beauty and technological prowess of Korean architecture on the global stage.
