[Dedication Ceremony] Gyeonggi Library

Notice 23 Oct. 28, 2025

On October 25, 2025, the opening ceremony for the Gyeonggi Library was held in Gwanggyo, Suwon.

Breaking away from traditional formalities such as guest introductions and congratulatory speeches, the event was organized as a “participatory festival” under the theme “Between People and Books — Gyeonggi Library.”

It featured library tours, talks, and performances, and was broadcast live on the Gyeonggi Government’s official YouTube channel.

Athematic video shown during the ceremony included an interview with Mr. Kim Tae-man of HAEAHN Architecture, who introduced the design concept and architectural motifs behind the project.

The Gyeonggi Library was designed by HAEAHN Architecture, the winner of the 2020 design competition, with construction beginning in October 2022 and the library opening its doors on October 25, 2025.

As the largest integrated cultural public library in Korea, it was designed not merely as a place to house books but as a multifunctional cultural platform where citizens can enjoy reading, culture, and community together.
