Public Briefing on the Makgye-dong Special Planning District in Gwacheon

The presentation for the Gwacheon District Makgye-dong Special Planning Zone Development Project, designed by HAEAHN Architecture, was held on September 23 at the Grand Theater of the Gwacheon Citizens’ Hall.

At the presentation, the City of Gwacheon officially announced the attraction of Ajou University Hospital and unveiled Medi Park 1, a 500-bed hospital design proposed by HAEAHN Architecture. The design presentation was delivered by Principal Minjin Park, who introduced the vision of a mixed-use development combining medical, senior care, cultural, and commercial functions. He emphasized that “Medi Park 1, formed by the integration of three clusters, will accompany the future of Gwacheon.”

The project is a large-scale development on a 108,333㎡ site within the Gwacheon district, aiming to establish an advanced industrial convergence cluster anchored by comprehensive medical facilities. Mayor Gyeyong Shin of Gwacheon described the occasion as “a historic moment that not only fulfills the citizens’ long-cherished wish for a general hospital but also heralds a new leap forward for the city.” He added, “This project will safeguard citizens’ health rights while transforming Gwacheon into a self-sufficient city enriched with advanced industries and cultural infrastructure.”
