Jaseng Medi bio Center, located in Sangdaewon-dong, Seongnam, is a GMP facility that manufactures and supplies high-quality oriental herbal medicine and medical acupuncture needles through its automated processing and strict quality control systems specializing in Oriental her medicine production. HAEAHN Architecture green-remodeled formerly a printing house for the Hankook Ilbo newspaper to give birth to the new center. For this purpose, HAEAHN Architecture planned a mass design through which the existing building harmonizes well with Jaseng’s yin-and-yang symbol and the newly extended building, featuring vertical metal panels that metaphor the upright image of bamboo. The lower floors are allocated with logistics and herbal dispensaries, and the higher floors research facilities and a museum.
