“Making the place is the meaning of changing the place from leaving place to livable place” – Ethan Kent. The old municipal buildings were located in the middle of underdeveloped blocks which is the center of the city but stagnant and lack of vitality. The new city hall revitalizes surrounding context by creating a green heart which provides the leisure and rest space for citizen with raised green rate of the old town. As a new nature is transplanted to the center of city, the green network from Bongeui Mountain has been completed with lots of shade and lush greenery. This municipal site is borderless and strongly connected to all alleys from surrounding. A continued pedestrian network is transformed to the even corridor of various open spaces where becomes the city’s iconic square of cultural performance.
