LOTTE CASTLE EASTPOLE & EASTPOLE Tower is a mixed-use development project initiated through public–private collaboration to revitalize a deteriorated urban environment. Located near Guui Station in Gwangjin-gu, the site enjoys views of the Han River to the south and Mountain Bukhansan and Achasan to the north. The design concept draws inspiration from the traditional baesanimsu (mountain-backed, water-facing). The high-rise towers form a backdrop within the complex, while the low-rise podium creates pedestrian-oriented internal passageways, shaping a new nature-friendly spatial environment. Despite its high-density mixed-use program, a 45-degree orientation was adopted to secure optimal views, openness, and a strong sense of frontage.
