Gyeongju Integrated Cultural Library aims to redefine the library as a community platform where everyday life and culture intersect. Drawing on the concept of a “village,” the design creates an open spatial structure that invites citizens to freely enter and linger. The ground level integrates with the surrounding park and features Byeoldamteo, a central landmark Community space that organically connects cultural, educational, and exhibition programs. Above, an open-plan reading lounge overlooks Hwangseong Park, extending the relationship between nature and knowledge. In section, the layered composition—from historical archives to contemporary reading spaces and sustainable systems—expresses both Gyeongju’s sense of place and the library’s role as a complex cultural institution.
